Rangers Game

We decided since we were in Fort Worth picking up Reagyn from camp, it would be a good time to catch a Rangers game.  We had a few hours to kill so we went to Bass Pro Shop.  After looking around for a while, we played some Tic Tac Toe.

Took a few selfies at the game.

The kids waited and waited on a ball during warmup...didn't get one.

Reagyn was chosen to participate in a promotion.  She learned how to used the camera and had to scan the crowd to find the person dressed as a giant Jim Bowie.  She did and won!  She got 3 tshirts, a cap, a magnet and some baseball cards.  She was super excited.  The funny part is a guy at church this morn asked if she was at the game Fri night.  He said his son called and said he saw a Reagyn from Hico on the big screen.  HA!
We got to see an awesome fireworks show afterwards.  What a great family day!!

Camp Reports

Karson went to the mountains of New Mexico for Numinous.  He didn't have much to report...you know him...full of details.  He did say it rained every day.  And that he got hit in the back of the head with a paintball and it hurt a lot.  He seemed disappointed that most students never cracked their Bibles open.  They were told they could follow along or just listen.  He was one of the few who chose to follow along.  He said he enjoyed catching up with Colton but didn't really have a place there anymore.  :'( I'm not sure he'll go next year.  Makes me sad but at the same time, he's got a place here that he enjoys.

Reagyn on the other hand has been full of reports about her week long camp.  Also Education in Action was excellent at posting pics each day.  Plus Holly sneaked some photos for me. :)  They also worked in a journal all week, so I know exactly what they did and discussed.  She got to visit so many places!!  They went to:
Summit Climbing Gym
Cowboys Stadium Tour
Palace of Wax
Amon Carter Art Museum
National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame
Fort Worth Museum of Science & History
6th Floor Museum of Nature and Science
Texas Civil War Museum
Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Fort Worth Botanic Gardens
Rangers Ballpark Tour
WHEW!  She was certainly exhausted after all that.  Plus they ate out at places like Chili's, Risky's, and Humperdinks for lunch and supper.  What an amazing trip!  I am so proud of her for saving her birthday and Christmas money to be able to go.  Thanks to Mamme and DadDad and Nana for the additional funds to get her there.  She says she's not sure she will go next year.  She would go to the Austin camp.  Says she didn't like hearing the rules for eating EVERY time they sat down.  And didn't like how many pictures they made them take.  hehe We'll see.

Camps

Summer has begun!  And so have camps.  The week after school ended, Karson went to football camp in the mornings at the school and they both with to basketball camp in the afternoons.

At the end of the week I took Karson to Lubbock so he could go with the South Plains group to Numinous.  Here he is with Colton before they left.  They went to the mountains of New Mexico for youth camp.

Reagyn is in DFW at the Lonestar Academy.  This is an educational week long leadership camp where she will visit all sorts of places in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  She raised her own money to be able to attend this camp and was nominated by a teacher at her school.  Thankfully that teacher (a friend of mine) is with her at this camp.  Reagyn gets to be in her group for the week.  This girl was excited!!

And the best part is while they are having fun, Lanny and I are home alone!  We are looking forward to spending some quality time together. :)

Random Pics

Found several random pics on my phone...
This one the kids are resting after 2 hours of jumping at the trampoline park in Fort Worth.
Reagyn is waiting patiently while Karson shops.
Reagyn and Kimberley on a field trip.
 Man they love this dog!
Maybe I do too?  Don't tell anyone.  I took her to the groomer.  She got her summer cut.
I have chickens!  Tim gave me some of his extra layers.  And they are laying fresh eggs for us.  YAY!  So cool!  Although they've been out a few times and Lanny's had to help me get them back in.  He also fixed the coop so they can't get out again.  I got this text from him the other day while I was out of town, "Your chickens are more work on my part that I was led to believe."  Thanks babe for all your help!  Love you!!

Working together

Our trampoline bit the dust, so we purchased an new one.  And then the kids went to work...yes, together!  I didn't hear a single cross word or witness a hit at all!  I enjoyed seeing them getting along.  Plus they both got to enjoy the results too!

Last Day of 4th & 7th Grades

First Day
 Last Day

We've come a loooong way since that first day of school!  We don't live in a travel trailer anymore. Daddy lives with us now.  We spend so much more time together and enjoy it. :)  The move was definitely the best decision for our family!

Last Week of School

Junior High Awards - Karson got the Top Problem Solving Student plaque and Most Improved Football Player.  He was NOT happy I made him pose with his awards!

While Karson had awards, Boo had Fun Day.  There was a giant slip n slide..with lots of mud!  She said she had a blast.
The next day were her awards.  She got A-B Honor Roll for the year.  Also all As for the last 6 weeks as well as perfect attendance.  She didn't mind me taking her pic! :)

So Much Rain

The month of May was full of rain!  Our tanks completely filled and overflowed.  We were outside one evening and heard running water.  WHAT?!?  In our back yard?  Yes...we had a mini river for several days.

Steers still need to be worked with...even with all the rain and mud.  One day we went out and got them tied up.  The kids rubbed on them and talked to them for a bit.

Then Boo decides to walk around.  She gets stick in the mud (and poo) and can't get her boot freed.  Karson decided to go help her and tries to pull her up.  HE falls down too!

They were both filthy when we got back up to the house.

Lanny enjoyed hosing them off! :)

Karson is a Teenager!

This boy! How can he be 13 already??  I am so proud of him.  Karson has found his place here in Hico and is very happy.  He has lots of friends.  He is making good grades and loving playing sports.  He has been involved in the youth group at church and has written and led several devos at the nursing home.  One he even did in front of the church!  He is a handsome, thoughtful, smart and respectful young man who chooses to do what God wants.  Yep...this Momma is proud!!

Haley's Visit

Haley and her sweet kiddos came to Hico for a visit.  She wanted to see our new place.  So glad they came!  I didn't get any good pics of her kids but they were there!
We went to Glen Rose one of the days she was here.  The Big Rock Park is so cool!

Then we went to Dinosaur World.  Karson and Reagyn were a bit too old to enjoy it but they made the best out of it anyways!
